Deputy Director Maritime Affairs and External Relations

Wayne Mykoo is currently the Deputy Director Maritime Affairs and External Relations at the Antigua and Barbuda Department of Marine Services and Merchant Shipping (ADOMS), with over 14 years of leading and managing regulatory and administrative operations at the executive level. Wayne holds several appointments and undertakes special assignments, including:

• A principal member of Antigua and Barbuda’s delegation to the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Maritime Safety Committee (MSC), the Facilitation (FAL) Committee, and the Technical Committee, and the Navigation Communication and Search and Rescue (NCSR) Sub – Committee.

• ADOMS’ representative to Antigua and Barbuda National Ocean Governance Committee (NOGC) - former Deputy Chairman.

• Antigua and Barbuda NOGC’s representative to the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Ocean Governance Team.

• National project lead on the development of the IMO Generic Maritime Single Window System – collaborating with technical experts from the IMO and Norway.

    IMO Maritime Single Window - The Countdown to 1 January 2024

    At the beginning of 2023, IMO, IAPH and BIMCO launched their Maritime Single Window - A Window of Opportunities campaign in order to raise awareness of the requirement for member states to implement a Maritime Single Window by 1 January 2024. This session will explore the 'why', the 'how', the 'what', the 'where' and the 'when' behind implementing a Maritime Single Window, with concrete examples showcasing the benefits ports can experience as a result.
