Roger is a well-travelled maritime professional with a successful track record of 40+ years in senior management roles in shipping, logistics, port management and port development. After many years with shipping line Hamburg Sud, he started and managed Port of Rotterdam’s international port development and consultancy arm. Prior to his position with Van Oord he was the CEO of RAK Ports in the UAE.

He served as a director on the boards of ports in Brazil, UAE, Oman and India. Van Oord is a key player in the global marine contracting industry. With over 150 years of experience, it has been involved in many flagship projects around the world. To name a few: Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, Suez Canal expansion, Maasvlakte 2 in Rotterdam). With its 5000+ workforce, Van Oord focuses on Dredging and Marine Construction and Offshore Energy.

Within Van Oord, Roger Clasquin is (ao.) responsible to maintain and develop strategic partnerships with port operators and developers. With regard to existing ports, Van Oord wants to be the marine contractor of choice for infrastructure upgrades and maintenance. In addition, Van Oord also acts a co-developer of greenfield port projects. Having Van Oord as partner ensures delivery of the projects within time and budget. This helps port operators and developers to create trust with investors, port users and providers of project finance.
