Chief Information Officer

As Chief Information Officer at the Port of Los Angeles, Lance Kaneshiro is responsible for the Port’s computing, networking/telecom, and cybersecurity services. The goals include improving operations through the leveraging of information technologies and enabling the Port’s digitization strategies.

Kaneshiro’s professional affiliations include ChainPORT, which includes leading ports from around the world, for which he serves as the Co-Chair for the Cyber Resilience working group and actively participates in the CIO and digitalization working groups. He is also a former Chair for the IT Committee of the American Association of Port Authorities.

Kaneshiro earned an MBA degree from the Anderson School at UCLA and MS and BS engineering degrees from the University of Southern California. He is a licensed professional engineer, a certified project management professional (PMP), and a certified information systems security professional (CISSP).
