Starting in 1992, Geert worked in Asia and Europe in the freight forwarding industry with major 3rd party logistics companies such as Geodis, Bolloré Logistics, and Gosselin on C-level. In 2017 the setup of the global CrossTrades network in over 40 countries and the launch of the Lean and Green program in Belgium showed his commitment to building global sustainable supply chains on a community level. In April 2019 Geert became CEO of NxtPort, the data-sharing platform of the Port of Antwerp and beyond. Since January 2021 Geert is co-managing the international rollout of the Nxtport data-sharing backbone in Asia and the US. He is/was involved in several logistics community projects in Belgium (Portilog, Voka - Alfaport, VEA-Forward Belgium, Air Cargo Belgium, Clecat, Alfapass, CCS).
