Erik Jakobson


Partner and Chairman

Erik W. Jakobsen is a business economist with a Ph.D. in Economics from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen. He established Menon Business Economics together with Leo Grünfeld in 2006 and was previously the Managing partner in the company. Erik held a position as a professor in Strategic Management at the University College of Southeast Norway (HSN) for almost 10 years.

Jakobsen is the author of a series of books and articles, including Hvem eier Norge (Universitetsforlaget, 2006); Et verdiskapende Norge (Universitetsforlaget, 2001); Ekspansjon og konsernstrategi (Gyldendal, 2015); and Attracting the winners (Kolofon, 2003). Jakobsen has 25 years of experience as a scholar, advisor, and lecturer. His core areas of expertise include strategic analysis, industries’ competitiveness, corporate and ownership strategy, organization design, cluster development, and economic policy.
