Dr. Taleh Zyiadov

Director-General
Dr. Taleh Ziyadov was appointed as the Director-General of “Baku International Sea Trade Port” CJSC (Port of Baku) by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 17th, 2014. With extensive professional experience in logistics management and supply chain, as well as business development on regional and national scales, Dr. Ziyadov brings operational leadership and innovative attitude to the port industry in Azerbaijan as he leads the largest port of the Caspian Sea basin.
Under his leadership, the Port of Baku has integrated eco-conscious and digital practices into its operations. This forward-thinking approach led to the Port of Baku becoming the inaugural port in the region to establish the net-zero emission "2035 Climate Action Plan." The European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO) duly recognized this achievement by awarding the port the "EcoPort" certificate in 2019. Furthermore, the port joined the UN Global Compact initiative, reinforcing its commitment to the global sustainability agenda.
Dr. Ziyadov holds a Master's degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University (USA) and a Ph.D. degree from Cambridge University (UK).
In addition to his role as the Director-General of the Port of Baku, Dr. Ziyadov also serves as a president of Azerbaijan Badminton Federation, where he leads the nationwide development of badminton as an Olympic sport.
