Eng. Dimuthu H. Samarakoon has been serving as a Port Engineer of Sri Lanka Ports Authority since September 2011 and is actively involved in several port development projects. She carries professional skills in Port Management, Planning, Implementation, and Consultancy. Her experience mainly involves national ports planning and development including infrastructures, contract administration, port operations, logistics, and commercial policy in line with the future maritime principles of Sri Lanka.

Dimuthu obtained her BSc Eng (honors) specialized in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa and registered as a Chartered Engineer in the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) in the year 2015. In addition, she recently completed her Master of Business Studies degree from the University of Colombo and also holds an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

    IAPH Women’s Forum Breakfast Meeting

    The IAPH Women’s Forum was created in 2012 with the aim to discuss women’s issues in the port industry, to find ways of attracting women to join the industry and to retain and develop female talent. Since then, the Women’s Forum has steadily proceeded with measures to advance the status of women in the port industry such as IAPH Women’s Forum Scholarship. Coinciding with the first IMO International Day for Women in Maritime, this session features presentations by this year’s scholarship winners as well as a discussion on the Forum’s future roadmap and deliverables.

    IAPH Women’s Forum Scholarship Awards – A Conversation With The Winners

    The IAPH Women’s Forum is offering two scholarship opportunities for female employees of regular IAPH members. The Women’s Forum Biennial Training Scholarship provides supplemental tuition for two years for a port or maritime-related course at a college, university or other similarly-related purpose port-related training institutions. The Women’s Forum Annual Meeting Scholarship provides attendance to make an original presentation at the Women’s Forum panel at the World Ports Conference.
