President / Chief Executive

Ms. Caroline Yang, Chief Executive of Hong Lam Marine Pte Ltd, started her career with the company as their in-house counsel in 1991. In her current role, she also directly oversees the Legal and Human Resources functions.

With close to 30 years of experience in the shipping industry, Ms. Yang was elected as the President of the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) in 2019, becoming the first female to helm SSA since its inception in1985. She is also a board member of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, the Singapore Maritime Foundation, and the International Chamber of Shipping.

Ms. Yang also chairs the Shipping Tripartite Alliance Resilience (STAR) Fund Governance Committee. The STAR Fund is the first global ground-up tripartite initiative spearheaded by SSA, MPA, SOS, and SMOU in Singapore with other international maritime organisations to work with stakeholders in seafaring nations on concrete solutions for safe crew changes.
